About
For the cook in your house.
Feeding a family is constant, invisible work. We don't pretend our app fixes that. We do make one specific part of it — what's for dinner and what do we need from the shops — measurably easier, every week.
How we got here
FasterPlate started as a kitchen-table tool for one household. A folder of recipes, a Python script that turned them into aisle-grouped shopping lists, and one tired family that wanted dinner sorted before Sunday turned into Wednesday.
It worked. After a year of family use, the shopping lists were genuinely faster and the Tuesday-night "what are we eating" argument quietly stopped happening. So we rebuilt it as a multi-user web app, polished off the rough edges, and put a A$19.99/year price tag on it.
That's it. No big plans to turn this into something else later. No team of marketers. No tech-magazine schemes. Just a tool, built for a real kitchen, now available to yours.
Who runs this
FasterPlate is run by a couple in Australia with three hungry teenagers, a big dog, a small cat and six chooks — all living at home. We built it for our own kitchen first, then for yours.
A real human reads every email sent to [email protected]. That means:
- The people who wrote the app are the same people who fix it when it breaks.
- Support emails get a real reply, usually within two business days.
- No sudden announcement that the app is becoming something different. No "we're closing this feature you depend on" email out of the blue.
- If anything ever happened to us, your recipes don't disappear with the app — you can download all of them at any time and take them somewhere else.
This is unusual and we know it. We're choosing to play it as a feature, not hide it.
What we promise
Four things we'll stick to:
Fast. Your time is the scarce resource. Every screen, every click, gets you closer to a fed family.
Honest. A$19.99/year, stated up front. 7-day trial, no credit card. Refund within 14 days, no questions asked. We tell you what we can't do as well as what we can.
Quiet. No push notifications. No streak counters. No algorithm trying to live in your pocket. Open the app when you need it, close it when you don't.
Yours. Your recipes are yours, full stop. Not sold, not held hostage, not turned into "premium-tier" features later.
What we don't do (and won't)
To save you starting a free trial and finding out the hard way:
- We're not a social network. There's a community pool for sharing recipes, but no follows, no comments, no likes.
- We don't do nutrition analysis. We don't track calories. We won't lecture you about anything.
- We don't have a separate mobile app. The web app works on phones — it's designed to.
- We don't generate recipes from scratch. The AI reads recipes you bring us; it doesn't invent them.
- We don't send marketing emails. Transactional only — sign-in links, recipe shares, account stuff.
