Terms of Use
Last updated: 2026-05-12
These are the rules for using FasterPlate. Written in plain English. If anything is unclear, email [email protected] and we'll explain.
1. Who we are
FasterPlate is a recipe and shopping-list app. It's run by a couple in Australia. You can contact us any time at [email protected].
2. The deal
- You sign up and get 7 days of full access for free.
- After that, you decide whether to pay A$19.99 per year (in Australian dollars, or your local equivalent — our payment partner handles the conversion).
- You can cancel at any time from your account page. You keep access until the end of the year you paid for.
- If you change your mind within 14 days of paying, email [email protected] and we'll refund you, no questions asked.
3. What you can do
- Add as many recipes as you want, by hand or by uploading.
- Use the AI-assisted recipe import up to 50 times per year (this limit exists to keep our costs sane; manual entry is unlimited).
- Generate as many shopping lists and menu plans as you want.
- Send recipes to friends by email.
- Optionally publish your best recipes to the community pool.
4. What you shouldn't do
- Don't try to break the AI import limit by creating multiple accounts.
- Don't publish recipes you don't have permission to share. Your own creations and traditional family recipes are fine. Recipes lifted from a paid cookbook or a paywalled site are not.
- Don't use the app to send spam, harass anyone, or share anything illegal.
- Don't try to break into the app, scrape large amounts of data, or impersonate someone else.
If you do these things, we may close your account without warning and without a refund.
5. Your content
- Recipes you add are yours. We don't claim ownership of them.
- When you publish a recipe to the community pool, you're letting other FasterPlate members save it to their own recipe books. They can't sell it. You can unpublish at any time, though copies already saved by other people stay with them.
- We can remove anything from the community pool if it breaks these rules or if someone files a valid copyright complaint.
6. Our content
The FasterPlate name, logo, software, and the way the app is put together are ours. You're using the app under licence — you don't own it just because you pay for it.
7. Service availability
- We aim to keep the app running 24/7 but can't promise zero downtime.
- We may take it down for short windows to do maintenance.
- If FasterPlate were ever to shut down, we'd give you at least 30 days' notice and a way to download all your recipes.
8. What we can't promise
- We can't guarantee a recipe will turn out how you hope.
- We can't guarantee the AI-imported recipe is 100% accurate. Always check before cooking.
- We can't guarantee a shopping list is complete for every household. Always cross-check before leaving for the shops.
- We're not liable for cooking mistakes, missed shopping trips, or anything else that happens because of the app being slow, wrong, or unavailable.
9. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a significant way, we'll email you and you'll have 30 days to decide whether to keep using FasterPlate.
10. Closing your account
- You can close your account anytime from your account page. We delete your data within 30 days.
- We may close your account if you break these terms. For minor things we'll usually email first. For serious things (fraud, harassment), we may close it immediately.
11. The legal bit
- These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
- If there's a dispute, the courts in Queensland are the agreed venue.
- If one part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
12. Getting in touch
Questions, complaints, refund requests, copyright concerns — all to [email protected]. A real human reads every email.
